The Who Convention 2006 took place on 1st April 2006. All tickets were sold out and the Convention was a great success! Thanks to all those who took part and attended. A highlight of the day was a surprise appearance by Roger Daltrey. A fantastic day was had by all and a good deal of money was raised for charity. All profits from the Convention will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is a favourite charity of The Who.

31 JULY 2006 - IN MEMORY OF JOHN DAVIS

We were saddened to learn that on 22 July 2006 John Davis passed away after a car accident. John created the artwork on the cover of the 2006 Convention programme and arranged the Who memorabilia display upstairs at Bush Hall. You can find out more about John here. We have put programmes and posters featuring John's excellent artwork on eBay. Proceeds will be donated to a charity nominated by John's next of kin. Please help raise funds in memory of John.

24 JUNE 2006 - CONVENTION PHOTO ALBUM

11 JUNE 2006 - DOWNLOAD DVDs OF THE WHO CONVENTION 2006

The performances from the Who Convention 2006 will be available as bit torrent downloads from www.longliverock.org. You will be able to download a series of high quality DVD's featuring Who's Who, Casbah Club, The Wholigans, Irish Jack and Roger Daltrey for just $8 each (proceeds will go to TCT). 13 APRIL 2006 - CONVENTION ITEMS ON EBAY FOR CHARITY

01 APRIL 2006 - WHAT A GREAT DAY!

It's a shame the day had to end! The Who Convention 2006 was a roaring success. With countless Who associates in attendance and a surprise visit by none other than Roger Daltrey, the Convention exceeded all expectations! The organisers wish to thank everyone for coming!

29 MARCH 2006 - LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS TO AUCTION AND RAFFLE ITEMS

Last minute additions include:- various photos signed by PT & RD; “Face Dances” signed by PT, RD & JAE; “The Rock” signed by JAE; leather-bound copy of “Bass Culture” book; 4' x 4' “Who By Numbers” woven throw; photo signed by film director of Quadrophenia; various t-shirts, books and programmes; a Sharp DVD/VCR player; and a pair of JAE's boots with Cuban heels!

14 MARCH 2006 - PETE TOWNSHEND ITEMS FOR PROGRAMME & AUCTION

We are pleased to announce that Pete Townshend has kindly written an introduction for the limited edition programme that will be on sale at the Convention. Pete has also donated two items for the Convention auction: the signed lyrics to "Real Good Looking Boy"; and his draft novella titled "The Comedian". There is more information about these items on the Memorabilia page.

24 FEBRUARY 2006 - AUCTION & RAFFLE

We have updated the Memorabilia page of the website with details of the items that will be for auction and raffle on the day of the Convention.

Proceeds from the auction & raffle will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust so please be generous!

15 FEBRUARY 2006 - TICKETS SOLD OUT!

Tickets for The Who Convention 2006 have now completely sold out!

14 FEBRUARY 2006 - WHO'S WHO TO PLAY

We confirm that the opening live slot at the Convention (which Who's Next unfortunately had to vacate) will be filled by UK tribute band Who's Who. They will perform a set of material from the Quadrophenia album. There is more information on the Bands page of this website.

13 FEBRUARY 2006 - WHO'S NEXT PULL OUT

Unfortunately, Who's Next will be unable to play their scheduled live set at the Convention because drummer Alex Butterfield has suffered an injury in a horse riding accident (he has sustained a broken shoulder blade). The Convention organisers sincerely wish Alex a speedy recovery.

09 FEBRUARY 2006 - CHRIS CHARLESWORTH

We are pleased to confirm that Chris Charlesworth (author of several Who books and compiler of the "30 Years of Maximum R&B" CD box set) will attend the Convention and will be happy to answer questions from fans.

03 FEBRUARY 2006 - KEITH MOON TRIBUTE DRUM KIT ON DISPLAY AT THE CONVENTION

Premier Percussion Limited have kindly offered to display a tribute to Keith Moon's legendary 1960's "Pictures of Lily" drum kit at the Convention. Named the "Spirit of Lily", this new limited edition kit features faithful recreations of the unique artwork that adorned the original kit. Premier have also offered to donate a “Cabria” 5-piece kit to the auction to raise further funds for the TCT.

01 FEBRUARY 2006 - CASBAH CLUB TO PLAY LIVE AT WHO CONVENTION 2006

18 January 2006 - BIOGRAPHY ON SALE AT THE CONVENTION

Mark Wilkerson, the author of the recent biography “Amazing Journey: The Life of Pete Townshend” will be selling his book at the Who Convention. This book gives a fascinating account and is highly recommended.

09 January 2006 - PROGRAMME INTRODUCTION WRITTEN BY ROGER DALTREY

We are pleased to announce that the limited edition programme for the Who Convention (which will only be available to buy on the day of the Convention) will feature an exclusive introduction kindly written by Roger Daltrey! So make sure you get a copy of this collectable programme. All profits will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
